Friday Baking


Like most Jewish women on a Friday, I’ve been baking. I made leek foccace and carrot cake.

The recipe for the foccace is not mine but comes from The Parve Baker.

As for the carrot cake, I posted the recipe on Wednesday.

Update: the foccace, piping hot from the oven, a few minutes before candle lighting.

  1. I’m so glad you tried the focacce. They look great! I’m usually working on Friday until mid-afternoon, so do most of my Shabbat baking on Thursday night, but was home this past week with a lot of chocalate chips. The result? Chocolate chip challah. Not very traditional, but quite tasty.
