Stained Glass

This post is afollow-up of yesterday’s when I showed some photos of Lübeck’s synagogue, outside and inside. The stained glass in the first shot is the inside of the dome you can see in the second one. I believe it is dark around because of the light that was flowing from above.

On Tuesdays, just post any photo you like (it must be one of your own) that contains the color RED and then link to this blog.

  1. The stained glass allows toe outdoor light to add a colorful aura to a house of worship. We worship the one true God seriously in our minds – the colorful windows show a God of light and beauty. This is beautiful!

  2. Someone with a great deal of skill created that stained glass.

The whiteness of the synagogue reminds of the shul in Newport, RI – that one was established by Dutch Sephardi Jews, so it could be that the architecture has similarities to this one.

In looking at the RI interior, I see it is more ornate than this one.
