Snowed-Down Nature

This physalis is the closest thing to a flower which I recently photographed in my garden. We had a spell of snow almost two weeks ago so I took a few photos the next day when the sky was bright blue.

For more flowers from around the globe, Today’s Flowers is hosted by Luiz Santilli Jr. and managed by Santilli and Denise bc.

  1. Lovely shot! The green of the lantern is now a coppery brown wearing little snow caps.

I too posted little snow cones on brown rudbeckia. It’s all I had in my winter garden as well.

  2. So elegant and exotic-looking. Leora knows them as Chinese lanterns; my mother called them Japanese lanterns. (According to the link you provide for physalis, both are informal names for the flower.) Mmm, I miss the snow.
